Offering services as a sysop

Hoi,

You seem to be having problems with cold calling spammers. If you allow me the power, I can root them out for you if you so wish. VelvetClaw 03:17, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Re: Offering services as a sysop

Kinniken is the one who gives out moderator rights, but I don't think you will get it by just asking though.
I am not asking. I am merely offering to help. VelvetClaw 07:17, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi Trancid,

Nice work on the Creation Quest, those pages were much-needed and I'm glad to see someone make them. I made a few minor changes to the first page, just to clarify a few things.

K.

Re: -- Trancid 13:24, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

Glad to hear that, and of course, please change as much as you need. Consider these pages drafts for the time being. At least, I'm not yet experienced writing them in a good way, and I don't want to give away spoilers that you want to stay hidden.

Re: Re: -- Kinniken 13:32, 16 November 2011 (UTC)

No worry, your style is fine. And I'm ok with spoilers as long as there is a warning on top.

Hey Trancid, do you have a user name on the MC forums? i'd like to send you a PM.

Re: -- Trancid 10:18, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

You've found the right nick on the MC forums.

Hey Trancid, just a word to say I've made you admin, in case you need it for whatever editing. --Kinniken 11:24, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Re: -- Trancid 14:49, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. Don't know for what and if I will be using that new power, but we will see. Might come in handy at times. --Trancid 14:49, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Sadhu. How do I do this? -- Benfisher22 22:27, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Okay so I found Sadhu, but what next? I have the YogBox installed for 1.0.0. I have found him, but when I returned to the village, the quest was not complete. How to I talk to him and get his sage advice? Right clicking does not work. I really need some help here.

Welcome -- Ghost1972 11:43, 9 April 2012 (CEST)

Hi Trancid and welcome. I'm sorry I was not around to help you when you needed it but at the time I was very ill with bowel cancer / radiotherapy. Now that I'm recovering I'll be around a lot more so if you need any help please let me know. It will be a few days though before I'm fully up to date on all the changes since I was last here.

Re: Welcome -- Trancid 11:46, 9 April 2012 (CEST)

Wow. Glad you've survived that ordeal. I hope you don't mind, but I've tried to update some of the automated templates over time. Hopefully it's a bit up to your standards. If not, then go ahead and do your thing :)

Re: Re: Welcome -- Ghost1972 15:48, 10 April 2012 (CEST)

With what you had to work with you did well. Me plan was to leave the scripts I used to create the files on my profile but I never fully finished the scripts to do so. I was working on a new format the to requirements template so I'll finish that first before I update the file. So leave the requirements/shop templates to me and I'll have them all fully updated in the next few days.

Re:Welcome -- Trancid 16:20, 10 April 2012 (CEST)

It wasn't that hard, just programmed a bit to take certain source files and convert them to something that looked like what you had made. Anyhow, I'll leave those templates in your hands again. Oh, you probably already noticed, but the buying/selling items have changed a bit. It is now possible that you need to have a certain reputation requirement to be able to do that.

Workaround for "The Anomaly" -- Donkeysho 07:21, 14 April 2012 (CEST) -- Donkeysho 07:21, 14 April 2012 (CEST)

Hi Trancid. I've been working through the creation quests and came up to "The Anomaly" but the quest doesn't seem to want to trigger when I open the chest. How do I fix this?

Re: Workaround for "The Anomaly" -- Donkeysho 07:21, 14 April 2012 (CEST) -- Trancid 02:11, 15 April 2012 (CEST)

You can, if you want to, manually add the flag that should be set when opening the chest. First of all, to play it safe, exit minecraft and backup your world. (Just in case, it is located inside the saves folder inside your .minecraft folder.)
Now, go inside the world folder inside the saves folder inside your .minecraft folder. From there, go into the millenaire folder and open the file named tags.txt. (Names might differ depending on your operating system, I guess.)
Next, add at the bottom, a new line saying: explored_anomalyone
Save the file, start up minecraft and your world, and when you go back to the alchemist, he should think that you successfully explored the anomaly.
In case you are wondering where that specific line comes from. They are in the quest data files inside .minecraft/millenaire/quests/<questtype>/quest_file. Be aware though. Those files are, despite being minimalistic, rather spoiler heavy, so only use it as a last resort.
Good luck, I hope it works for you.

I managed to finish the whole quest line without cheating or anything. "The Experiment" was so awesome.

"The Anomaly" strangeness -- Sleepyerin 20:04, 23 May 2012 (CEST) -- Sleepyerin 20:04, 23 May 2012 (CEST)

Hi! First - I am loving the Millenaire mod. I am up to "The Anomaly" quest and it was a little strange from the beginning.

When I received the location, it happened to be in the ocean. OK, complicated but not impossible. I built my ladder down the ocean to where I needed to be. Found the bedrock ceiling, so all is OK. Right?

This is where it starts to get odd.

I dug around til I found the edges of the celing, then dug down and around the walls until I found an entrance. The entrance area I found was lined with two embedded layers of glowstone, with an iron door. I popped open the iron door and saw the spiders and skeles mentioned in the quest walthrough, killed them off.

The next room had single blocks of different kinds of ore, leading to a room with flowing lava. I plugged up some lava to safely go down to the next area, which had two rivers of lava flowing through it, going under a glass floor.

The only "chest" I could find was some sort of "unknown powder" dispenser, rigged up to some redstone and a stone button. I assume it's a glowstone powder. But, it's tucked back into bedrock so I can't physically access it to trigger the quest completion.

The picture of a room with strange mushrooms isn't attached to any of the rooms I've located, and the directions state I am in the right location.

edit: Looks like Technic Pack doesn't include latest Millenaire. Sorry for the confusion. :)

Re: "The Anomaly" strangeness

It's a bit late here, so my searching around has been a bit flawed, but I couldn't find which Millénaire version the Technic pack is using at the moment. I think it should be mentioned somewhere in the modloader.txt log file in your .minecraft directory. (That is, of course, if the technic pack works in that way.)
While you're at it, mind giving me some additional info. You said you were on the quest named "The Anomaly". Spoiler ahead, don't answer the question inside if you don't want to look. We can deduct it from other information.

Also, inside the millenaire folder that is inside the save folder of your world, there should be a bunch of files. (So, .minecraft/saves/<world name>/millenaire/) Could you post the contents of the following files here:
actiondata.txt
quests.txt
tags.txt
If it's quite a few lines, please post them inside a so called Hidden template. Basically type: {{Hidden|<Title>|<Contents>}}, where you replace <Title> with some title of your choice, and <Contents> with the contents of your file.
Thanks in advance for the info. --Trancid 00:19, 24 May 2012 (CEST)

Urgent: generate four villages near -- Cavalheiro junior 16:01, 11 June 2012 (CEST)

hello Trancid I need to know how to generate each one of four other villages nearby, and if possible Norman culture. there is some seed? or anything that can generate four villages near thank you

Re: Urgent: generate four villages near -- Trancid 23:53, 11 June 2012 (CEST)

Chances are slim to get four villages generated in close proximity, no matter which seed you use.
If you are going for the natural way, you will either want a huge plains biome or a huge river biome, since that is what the Norman favor. Besides that, you will prolly need to adjust your config settings.
In the millenaire folder inside your minecraft folder, you will find a file named config.txt. In there, it should say:
//Gameplay
min_village_distance=600
Depending on how close you want them, you will want to lower that number. the 600 means that no other village can spawn within 600 blocks of an already spawned village.
The second option is perhaps better. You can manually spawn villages. For this, you will need to have as many gold blocks (not ingots) for as many villages you want. Also, you will need to get your hands on a Village/Summoning wand. Place a gold block on the ground where you want the village and use the wand on it. Choose a village you want to have spawned and repeat this process for each new village you want.
If you want to do it all officially, then go with the second option, and find a village that has naturally spawned. Work your reputation up until you can buy the village wand, gather a lot of gold ingots, transform them into blocks and go spawn your villages. If you just want it quick and dirty, still go with the second method, but spawn the village wand for yourself with an item or command addon, as well as the gold blocks.
