partly clothing

Post by oblisgr » Wed Feb 19, 2014 11:07 pm

Hello,

I really love the new clothing system that came with Byzantine civilization. Now the job to create mode villager is just easier. But i have a question.

If i create different textures for top, legs, boots and hat will work as the full clothing texture?
can a villager choose more than one textures?

Hello,

sadly this is not possible.
Why? We have two layers for skins. This is because it has to render two times, if there was more it would become laggy as hell  Anyway I asked the mod maker some time ago to change this to a system where the skins are 'fused' before applying it to the model. Lets see what the future brings!

This system is great. I created 30 skins for elves and 30 clothes and I got 30x30=900 different combinations!!! This adds a great variety.

I understand about the lag. My thought was the following:

Create 5-10 different skin elves
Create 20 different hair skins
Create 50 tops (clothes)
Create 50 bottoms (clothes)

And just thing how many combinations you can get with these. The possibilty to find a villager that looks like an other in the village in too small.

But ok... too much lag!
I totally understand :) Thanks for answer!
