Village dangers

How well the villages hold up to the likes of zombies or someone / something breaking blocks on a building?

Welcome to the forums p_bunyan,

The Villages are protected from block removal/alteration by the exclusion of griefing mobs within the bounds of the Village... they'll simply de spawn, other mobs can enter the village though and on some occasions may attack a villager, this usually has nearby villagers help out and the mob is usually killed, this does depend on what mobs you have and may have added to your game, villagers are impervious to indirect damage like fire/lava/drowning/poison etc, but can be hurt by swordplay and arrows... though in the case of mob arrows they may not respond but they will eventually die.

In general, if a building is damaged (perhaps by a careless player action) and there are still upgrades to do, everything will just get rebuilt with no problem with the upgrade, if the building is completed and there are no upgrades left to do you might have to fix it yourself.

Thanks for the explanations. That was always a sad point with the traditional minecraft villages, I would be afraid to find them because I could never protect them fast enough and the zombies would get them all.
