I'm not sure if this is a bug or intentional, but the peasants will only collect dry bricks when there is a current construction needed that requires them. Once the amount is reached (and another item is still needed) they will freeze and not do anything else. They will not go socialize or chat or even move. Once the other items for construction that are needed are reached, one will start construction, but the other(s) will stay frozen.
It seems it would be more efficient that the other non-construction peasant(s) should continue to collect dried mud bricks and at least stockpile a stack of 64 at the very least. Instead, they just stand there until the construction is completed doing absolutely nothing.
The lumberman seems to be doing the exact same thing, except he never re-starts chopping wood when it is needed. Is the same programming bug possibly affecting him? Like he is waiting until "oak needed" for the next construction shows up, but for some reason he doesn't start chopping wood (even though peasants do start collecting dry bricks when they are needed for the next construction).
In my opinion, the lumberman should *always* be collecting oak wood, because it is an essential resource that everyone needs. It would also be nice if townhall bought coal from the player and took some of the load off of the necessity for oak wood.
