Re: German translation
Hi,
my girlfriend and I actually translated the help and parchments folder, our strings.txt process is also very advanced
the rest is actual in work...
We began our work on the 10th of this month.
I take a look over the files and upload them, as soon as possible.
I will also take a look for differences to 1.6.2.
Actual the translation could advance very fast, since I translate every day almost 4 hours.

Re: German translation
I found recently a display bug -
The Helppages
Village expansion, The Normans, The Japanese, The Mayan, The Byzantines (help_4,8,10,11,12)
Won't display ÄäÖöÜüß. I think there's an routine missing on these pages.
I will upload the help pages in a few minutes (when corrected).
//Edit:
Okay, I figured out, that all files need to be non standard DOS formatted text files. That's strange...
When I open the help_3 in standard txt format (windows created new text file, with inserted text)
Millenaire won't display special characters on this page.
If I copy the "non standard" (linux formatted?) Text files (ultra edit asks while opening to convert the file in standard DOS Format)
and use it as help file, Millenaire displays the special characters again.
I will edit all the files again, I think it takes just a few minutes...
// Edit end
//Edit:
Here is the German Translations of the Help Files.
I've 7z ipped them because of the File Restriction.
I will relayout them in a few minutes again, because I'm still a little impatient with the layout.
I also added an Note to the Village Creation page, that you could die while creating a village, since the village could spawn a wall directly on you.
//Edit:
Final Version now online (Version 2.0)
Layout a little nicer (in Millenaire Standard Font)
Corrected a few sentence errors and translation errors, all grammatical corrected.
Forgot to note:
Translated by UPR2000 and Redzora80 (she's actual not registered in the Forum)
//Edit 20-07-2013 00:54
Actual Status of Parchments:
Hindi - Translated, layouted and corrected.
Normans - Translated, layouted and corrected.
Mayans - in work
Japanese - in work
Byzantines - not yet implemented?

Re: German translation
Your character issues are not weird at all, "standard DOS files" indeed won't work. The Minecraft standard (and really the world standard by now) is UTF8.
Use PSPad and you can set it yourself to the right one.
And great to see the German translation progressing fast!

Re: German translation
It's not that problem, I use Ultraedit.Kinniken wrote:Use PSPad and you can set it yourself to the right one.
Since I know it I will convert all non UTF-8 Files into UTF-8 (even the ones which are not UTF-8)
Btw.: Sorry, that it takes so long, but I translated a 43 paged A4 Standard manual in between

Re: German translation
Actual translation Status of german files:
help - complete,
parchments - 5 left,
all string files - complete,
quest_sadhu - begun
Status:
54 - 57% (from translation gaps)
(duration: one week)
//Edit
I think in about an week or one and a half all language files for german translation are ready.
//Edit 2:
Actually the translation is a little slow because of the high temperatures here (between 28 and 32°C)
//Edit 3:
The Quest texts are almost finished.

Re: German translation
Hi,
Can you send me the most up to date files? Thanks.
Can you send me the most up to date files? Thanks.
Re: German translation
Here are the most up 2 date Files from our German translation.
(Done by Redzora80 and me)
Done
Help: 100%
Parchments: 1,2,3,5,6,7,9,10,11 complete
*_reputation: 100% complete
*_strings % strings: 100% complete
quest_fallenking: 100% complete
quest_others: 100% complete
quest_sadhu: 100% complete
Overall Status: 68% Complete
Warning: All not completed files are missing!
A little problem is still in these translation files:
The Captive Letters of the *_strings.txt's are small letters, I think this is just a little format problem.
We will take a hunt for this little bug, when translation and spelling is complete.
PS.:
I also uploaded my accidentally copied "quest.txt", this file will be deleted in the next version.
It is just a copy from quests_others.txt you can ignore this file (quests.txt) or delete it.
PPS.:
The text is sometimes (specially on the signs) very long - We fix that also (when the entire translation is completed).

Re: German translation
Thanks
Will be included in the next release.
For your capitalisation issue, that's a tough one actually... I've hard-coded it to be lower-case, because for French and English I want to have it in upper-case in some places (when it's alone on its line typically) but lower-case when part of a full sentence - so I have it with a capital in the text file and code it to lower case when needed. I did not realise that this would be an issue for German where capitalisation rules are different. Not sure what to do about it though, short of duplicating all the strings

Re: German translation
That's a little bad, since in German much like names, words after a ":" and sentence beginnings are written in capitals.Kinniken wrote:...

Maybe you could make a trigger - if language german, take the files as they are (capitals and small letters of course). It could also be useful in some other languages, but I don't actually know a complicated language like german ^^
With all the rules, it's really complicated sometimes^^
German translation
Just Fixed two things, ^^ there are some other things in other files like in quests_others which are 0% translated :/ maybe anybody want to translate them?

Re: German translation
Hi there, I'd really like to tackle some of the translation so what is to be done?
Re: German translation
Hello Millénaire,
i could try to translate the Chat of the Villagers into German, if I get the English Data.
If there anything else, which I should translate, you can ask me.
Prahxer
/edit: I would also translate the Wiki

I apologize that I have brought anything it's because I deleted the translated file. Man I'm so stupid, but I will indeed start again from 0, but that is not so bad for me because now I know the lyrics better already and it will go faster.
